May 19, 2011 - THE LAST DAY!! :'(
Yesterday, was my last day at Spring Oaks Middle School. I really enjoyed this class because I got to see the teacher with experience teaching. This class has showed me what I truly want to major in. I have decided that being a teacher is something that I want to do. But not as a middle school teacher or as an orchestra teacher. For me, becoming an elementary teacher is something easy because I love little children, they are so cute, and for me it is easier to teach. This two semester were fun to see the difference between the being an elementary teacher, middle school teacher, and an orchestra teacher. I just hope that after I graduate from college, the economy would be better, and that they would hire teachers by the time I graduate from college. So, teaching is something I would love to do and would enjoy to do!!! <3 =]

Yesturday, was Cinco de Mayo!!!
Well I really enjoyed my second class that I had, because it is a small class and they don't do much noise as the other classes. So, yesturday, I was working with them on their songs. They were playing songs that they wanted to play during the time I had left with them. I conducted them on their songs. I really enjoyed doing that yesturday!! =]

On Thursday, I had the varsity class. I had been a long time since I haven't heard them. They actually sounded ok on their spring concert music. They sounded a lot better since I last heard them. They pretty much just were going over their music and fixing some mistakes to make the sound better.

Yesterday, it was a normal day. The students were preparing themselves for their spring concert, their last concert of the year.
An assessment is a test. There are different types of assessments for example, multiple choice, matching, true or false, essay, fill in the blank or short answer, identification or labeling. An assessment helps the teacher know if the student actually learn something, or to just see if they know how to do it. It is to evaluate and maximiza a students learning.

On Friday, the students did their scales as always, and I conducted them, I also tuned their instruments. Right know they were just going over the music they were going to play at their trip to Galveston. It was a simple day for me.

My day at Spring Oaks Middle School
Yesterday, it was a very interesting day. On Wednesday the Spring Oaks Middle School Orchestra varsity and non-varsity had their UIL. They got 2,2,1 and 1,1,2. The varsity group got at least a plaque; I think it was for sight-reading not sure. I even got the chance to listen to the non varsity music recording. They actually sounded really good. Of course there was some out of tune notes on the 1st violins, but they sounded amazing. The teacher was not disappointed because he new they did their best, so even thought they didn't get straight one's. The teacher gave them good news and a bad news students good news. The good news were that they are going to go to Galveston. The teacher said he has been thinking about it, and he decided that they students deserve to go to Galveston. The bad news was that they are not going to play over there only varsity was. As them being a student, that was not bad news because some students didn't want to play, so that was good for them. On my second class the director let me teach the second class a song; I really like that song because I remember I played it when I was in middle school. The only problem I had is that that class was a Viola class and not a violin class. It was sort of hard for me to explain them how the song went. Being a music teacher is really hard.
Special Ed Research
On my special ed research I learned that IDEA stand for Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. Back then they didn’t had this program. It was tough for the special ed students had trouble learning, had difficult education experience, and even struggled to advance to the next grade. Now that this program is available at schools, it is easier for the especial ed students to continue with their education. They will even have the same curriculum as us students but in a way that it is easy for them to do.

Yesterday was awesome. For the first time I really liked being there at orchestra at Spring Oaks Middle School. It was a good thing Nadia was there because I got to see some parts of the school. She showed me the library, her old locker, she introduced me to her school principal, and I even got to see the school's cafeteria. That was fun!! Also after being there for thirty minutes for our surprise our orchestra teacher came here. So now there was three of us there. =)
The three of us got to hear his varsity eight grade group, and we got to be the judges. We gave them some advice on what to improve on their music. I was fun having Nadia there and seeing our teacher there too. I really enjoyed it.

Yesturday, it was like any other day, except this time I got to conduct on one of their UIL music.
They sound even good everytime, but if you want to get straight one's then you need to get the music perfect.
It was a cool day. =)

Well, yesturday I didn't go to Spring Oaks Middle School, because they were having benchmarks and so I had to be at the 10th and 11th grade office. I just study all that time for my Pre-Cal test I was going to have in 6th period. I didn't really do anything, I just hole punched some papers and thats all.

February 10,2011
Yesturday, everything went well.
The teacher wasn't there but there was a substitute, (he was very cool).
I really like hime because he put the students to work on their music, he even gave them the beat to start them off. He didn't really know how to play an instrument, but he did know about music.
He also gave a little history about music, and he showed us videos of movies that showed the music that the students were playing. He was an awesome substitude. I just helped him with the tuning because he didn't know how to tune an instrument. I was greatful that I actually got does instruments in tune, because I do not know much, and I'm thankful that none of the strings broke from tuning.
TARDY POLICY
I don't really agree with the trady policy becuase, if I were a teacher, and if there were students going to ISS for the whole day for being late I would be very disapointed because I would rather have them late, then for them not to be here and do the work and be behind. I think there are other ways were you can do to not make students be late.

February 4, 2011 - Procedures
On Thursday in Orchestra, It was a crazy day.
I didn't really see any procedures because it was picture day.
All of the students from Orchestra had to come, get their violin ready a leave to take the picture.
I had to stay in the classroom to tell the students where they had to go to take their pictures.
So there wasn't really any procedures there. The teacher had to be at the Gym to take pictures with the class.
The only thing I saw was when they came in the classroom, grabed their instruments say down and stayed silently until annoucements where finished.

January 27, 2011 (Orchestra)
Yesturday, I got to see two different classes that the teacher has in Orchestra.
It was kind of weird because I didn't know anybody from there, so everything was like the beginning
I told the students who I am and why am I here. The students were nice and sweet. This time I didn't really do much because the students were getting ready for Solo & Ensemble. I just help some students tune their instruments, and help them on their solo. =)

January 20, 2011!! =)
PARTE #1
Yesterday, I experienced my first fire alarm in 2011, but not also that, on Tuesday, we had a guest speaker from our school who talked to us about the safety of our school, and also informed us the things that they do whenever there is an emergency at our school. So, yesterday i got to see the things that the guest speaker said. There was only one problem that I notice, the students were everywhere, there were not with their teachers. That was one of the things that the guest speaker talked. He said that in order for us to be safe, the teacher have the responsibility to know where we are, and take us somewhere safe for us to be. Before the alarm went on, the senior were at the auditorium. If I were a teacher I will get all my students to seat together just in case there is an emergency like the one from yesterday. I would also take them outside and not let the students go with their friends, and after that i would check role, and make sure that every student from my class is their.
PARTE #2:
Stereotype
Everyday and everywhere we go there is stereotyping. Like for example a lot of people think that all hispanic people are mexicans, which is not true. There is other stereotypes, but a way that we can stop it is by proving the people that what they say or think about us is not true.

My Day at Spring Oaks Middle School!! =)
November 13, 2011
I was really scared and nervous to go toSpring Oaks Middle School because,
I never went to that school. I went to Spring Woods Middle School, and I
thought I was going to be lost, and not find myself back to school. Thanks to God that
my friend was there to show me around the school and find my class. I was in a Orchestra
class. My friend introduced me to the director and after that I actually learned a lot about how
he is as a director. I noticed how strict he was and how he wants the students to play the notes
perfectly with and the rhythm also. I think he is a good teacher, because I wish I had an orchestra teacher
that strict so that I can push myself to be a good musician, and learn more things then what I know.
I think all orchestra directors should be like that, because I saw how he cared about the children, and
how he wanted them to sound good at UIL. He also told me to conduct the students because he
was going to hear the students who were going to do Solo and Unsemble. I was scared because I didn't know how to, and also he wanted me to tune the instruments (that was hard). Other then that, I really had a good experience there, and hope to learn more stuff on what orchestra teachers do.
